INT.BATH.EVENING.
Vera -a 4 year old girl- is in a bathtub.Her MOTHER is helping her take a bat.They play
together
INT.VERA' S ROOM.EVENING.

Mother is combing Vera's hair.
VERA

Where is daddy?
MOTTM,R
Daddy?I told you allready that our daddy is the Hide and Seek world champion.And we are
not going to look for him.
YERA

If we find him,he will not be the champion anymore.
MOTHER

Thats right.So better if he stays the champion.right?
VERA

Yeah.

EXT.FOREST.MORNING.

Vera and her Mother are playing hide and seek.While mother hid behind a big rock,Vera
closes her eyes and counts to 5 before she starts to look for her mom.
TITLE SCREEN.HIDE AND SEEK.

int.hospital.day.
Vera's Mother is in bed at the hospital.Her face is bluish,there are pipes all around her.She is
unconscious.

INT.KITCHEN.DAY.

LENA(Vera's aunt) is sitting in the kitchen.Irna is talking on the phone,she is tired.

I don't know what to do.She

is 1ike...what..almost 3 month in a
coma now.And Vera is coming up to
me everyday- "Aunt Lena,Aunt
Lena,when will mommy get
better,when will she come
home?".What am I suppose to tell
her?Ah,they dont know nothing,told
me that only God can save her
now,you understand?Only God.

Vera is sitting in the other room,but near the door,she is
listening to this conversation.

INT.CHURCH.DAY

Vera slowly moves through an empty church,looking around her.

VERA

Hey,Where are you?

EXT.CHURCH.DAY.

Vera leaves the church.

EXT.STREET.DAY.


A STREET PREACHER is talking about Light and Darkness,how
peoples souls are tormented-a human is lost in a dark forest
and sees no way out.He explain that this is because people
do not know how to live properly.He talks about the
Apocalypse.
About 15 people of different ages are standing near and
listening.Vera comes through this crowd and also starts
listening.She is eating a little cake,a woman standing
nearby asks her for a bite and bites off almost all of the
cake.
During this the Preacher says that he will demonstrate what
he is talking about.A Young Boy stands near him.The preacher
says that now he will demonstrate how does a soul tormented
by demons look like.The Preacher turns to his assistant who
is holding a boom-box.The assistant pushes the play
button-the is no sound-the assistant then changes the tape
to the other side and pushes the play button.Black Metal( or

hardcore punk) music starts to play.A group of 10 punks run
out wearing terrorist masks,they start a moshpit.The Boy
ends up in the middle -he is thrown from side to side in a
violent manner,he screams.
The preacher stops the demonstration.He then asks the
audience to observe how will those demons act if the soul is
accustomed with the proper way of living and has Light
inside.A violin starts to play and all the violent Punk Kids
run away.The preacher tells everyone that there is a way to
be one with God and he can teach them how-Everybody is
welcome to sign up for a special course(seminar) of holy
living and the first lesson is absolutely free.He than says
that soon free soup will be given out as promised but now he
will teach everyone an exercise to scare off the demons.He
asks everyone to close their eyes ,to imagine the demons
around them and to start pushing them away with their
arms.The preacher demonstrates actively.The audience -with
their eyes closed-wave their arms all around hitting one
another.Vera watches,somehow tries to join.


EXT.STREET.DAY.


After the Street Preacher finished his presentation and is
getting into his car to drive away,Vera comes up to him.

VERA
I need to talk to God.You know
where he lives?

PREACHER
Listen girl,the courses are not for
free so here is my card,come with
your parents.

The Preacher gets in the car and drives away.
INT.STREET,DAY.

Vera is walking down a deserted street.An ANGRY MAN runs toward her from the other side
of the street,he is screaming-I'll kill you,bitch!- and is holding an axe.Vera is scared and starts
to run away.The Angry Man runs near her and runs further down the road not even noticing
Vera.Vera turns around and continues her journey

EXT.STREET.DAY.

Vera walks through an old ,deserted neighborhood.Eventually she stops ,because in her path
stands MAX ( a 18 year old street hooligan),near him is his companions of around the same
age.They are dressed in cheap sports costumes and leather coats.

MAX
What arc you doing walking around here?
VERA
Give me money.
MAX
What??!
VERA

I need money to find out where God is.
MAX
Are you retarded?
VERA
You know where to look?

Max laughs.His companion whispers something i his ear.Max likes the idea.The boys laugh.

MAX

Yeah,I know where to look for him.I know where he lives.But I cant give away such
information for free.If you don't have money,you'll have to earn it.To pay for my
services.Understood?

Vera nods her head.

EXT.TRAIN STATION.DAY.

Vera is standing at the train station.Max instructs her what to do.He is making her act as a
beggar.He says she has to sing now,so that people will give her money.Vera says she does not
know much songs.Max says any song will do.Vera starts singing.

People walk by without paying any attention.

To make Vera look more pitiful Max first puts a blindfold on one of Vera's eyes to make her
look like she lost an eye.Vera continues singing.Max gives her a crutch to make her look
handicapped. Some people throw coins and little money in the charity box that stands on the
ground.

INT.HIDEOUT.DAY.

The boys are in their hideout (under the bridge) with Vera.Max is counting money.One guy is
wrestling a chair (or any other big object).The others cheer.

MAX

Fuck,you call that proper working?Almost no money at all.

VERA

You promised to say where to look for God.

MAX

A...He lives in Heavens .You will get there after you die.

VERA

Thats it?

MAX

What else were you expecting?

Vera gets up and walks out.

One of the boys comes up to Max.They discuss that there is not enough money.Max looks in
Vera's direction.

EXT.RAILROAD.DAY.

Vera is walking down the railroad tracks.She sits on the tracks waiting for the train to
come.When the train gets close,Max and his friend jump out of nowhere and save Vera.
We dont hear what Max is saying because of the loud noise of the train,but he explaining
something to Vera.

INT-EXT.OLD HOUSE.EVENING

A very old abandoned house.Max tells Vera to go with the MAN that stands near by,and if
Vera does everything the MAN asks her to do,the MAN will give money which will pay for
the information Vera wants.Max promises to tell her where God lives after she goes with the
MAN.Vera takes the MAN's hand and they both walk inside the house,where the MAN kisses
her...

EXT.WATERFALL.MORNING.

Flashback.

Vera is playing with her MOTHER near a waterfall.They are having a good time.They see a
plane fly above them,so they wave their hands.

Vera smiles and laughs.

EXT.NEAR A FOREST.DAY.

Max help Vera put her scarf on.He instructs her to go into the forest that is infront of her.He
tells her to go right through and that Heaven is on the other side and that is where God lives

EXT.FOREST.DAY.

Vera's journey first takes place in a vast forest which she walks through.

Eventually she comes to a huge Forest Cemetary.She is tired.

EXT.FOREST CEMETARY.DAY.

A WOMAN walks through the cemetary.Her face is emotionless.Although you can see that it
has been scarred by sorrow and alcohol.She is carrying an infant CHILD.After a long walk
she suddenly stops,stands for a moment looking at the baby and puts him on the ground.She
leaves the baby.
The kid starts crying.
Vera hears the baby and comes up to it.She looks at it for a while.
VERA

Are you playing hide and seek?
Vera takes the baby in her hands.

VERA

My father is the world champion in hide
find him.

She continues her conversation with the

and seek.Everybody looks for him,but no one can
