It is the year of 1921. After the Civil War, the Soviet Russia suffers starvation and chaos. The only way to get food grain is to sell distrained gold and diamonds guarded by the state repository. European jewelry exchange boycotts all transactions with Russia. Nevertheless, valuables originating from repositories in London and Paris will appear that seem to be mysteriously smuggled in. intelligence officer Maksim Issayev starts investigating the case in Estonia.
