The film was shot in 1977 on locations in northern Finland, Sámi, Vepsia, Votia, Mordovia, Khantia-Mansia, Hungary, the Taymyr Peninsula, Setomaa region in Estonia and in Saaremaa and Muhu islands, Estonia. Some footage was also filmed in Nenetsia in 1970.

The filmmakers ask what the collective farms have achieved during these years and how agriculture functions. The answers are given by the people from three collective farms and the heads of the collective farms - those of Aravete, Leie and Estonia. Episodes about the everyday life in collective farms and the film chronicles about the era of the first Republic of Estonia, about the rural life and founding of collective farms. A new human being is born in a small rural place in Estonia called Väätsa.

Documentary focuses on the birth of Hannes Martjak in the collective farm called May 9th in Paide district, Estonia. Registering his name in Väätsa culture house. The documentary shows episodes about the namegiving party and the surroundings of the home where the baby Hannes lives – residential buildings, construction work, grain harvesting, work in the cowshed, tractor harvesting the dry hay in the field, making ensilage. The film also depicts Hannes' parents Ene and Villem Martjak, Endel Lieberg - head of the collective farm.

The film directed by Veljo Käsper is based on the novel "The Seven Days of Tuisu Taavi" by Einar Maasik.

Taavi is worried about the lack of wind that won't let him do his daily job as a fisherman. Neither he nor other fishermen like that the fisheries inspector Olev has banned using motorboats on the lake, because of the possible injuries of fingerlings. Taavi is also concerned of the fact that Olev is often seen together with nurse Leili whom Taavi holds dear. But he is definitely not the guy who would just sit and wait for the better days.

The drama directed by Leida Laius is based on the play "Werewolf" by August Kitzberg, telling the story about love that will collide with superstition, jealousy and servility in a village during the times of slavery.

There are three children growing at Tammaru farm - one boy, Margus; and two orphan girls, Mari and Tiina. Tiina is lively and full of energy. Margus holds her very dear to him. Margus's parents want him to marry Mari instead as she is more their kind. Hotblooded Tiina is completely different from them and her mother was once executed for being a witch. Mari thinks that Tiina has bewitched Margus and cannot stand this, so she starts to publicly blame her stepsister for being a werewolf.
