Almost thirty years have passed since the establishment of collective farms in Estonian SSR. The filmmakers ask what the collective farms have achieved during these years and how agriculture functions. The answers are given by the people from three collective farms and the heads of the collective farms - those of Aravete, Leie and Estonia. Episodes about the everyday life in collective farms and the film chronicles about the era of the first Republic of Estonia, about the rural life and founding of collective farms.
