Twenty years ago a bunch of folk musicians met in Viljandi and this meeting led to the first folk music festival in Viljandi. Today when the festival celebrates its 20th anniversary there are young people in their early twenties, wearing some instrument and having music in their hearts.They have a different world view and their values are valuable.Jaak Johanson, the leading figure of Estonian folk music, walks and mingles with them. Marina Kuvaitseva, a proud and independent woman in Narva, leads a folklore ensemble where lonely and educated women sing.

Marina Kuvaitseva is a forty-year-old self-confident and independent woman who leads a folk music ensemble "Suprjaki" in Narva, Estonia. The singers of Marina's ensemble are lonely, educated women who do not want to live together with men who are less intelligent than themselves or who drink too much. People of Narva do not know who they are or where they belong to. Through folk music the women try to contact their roots, to entertain themselves and to find balance in their lives.
