Baltic Freedom 1991 Celebration at Nathan Phillips Square in Toronto

Hundreds of expatriate Baltic people have gathered under the national flags to Nathan Phillips Square in Toronto on the evening of November 1st. People in high spirits are celebrating the restoration of the independence in three Baltic States - Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Art Eggleton, mayor of Toronto, holds an opening speech after which a memorial tablet "Freedom Arches" is being inaugurated. The tablet has been applied to a post taken from the Berlin Wall and has texts in English and French on it.
