The events of the film take place on the Northern coast of Estonia, where the use of ice roads in winter is a centuries-old tradition. But it’s like a ghost road – no one knows when and where it will appear. The ice road is opened every year for cars and pedestrians. Though the ice seems to arise tensions, it melts something in people's hearts.

Kalju Komissarov (08.03.1946-06.03.2017) was one of the greatest and most influential theatre and film director and theatrical pedagogue in Estonia. To this day most of the big names who work in Estonian theatre stages have been his students. He was in charge of Estonian Youth Theatre 1974 - 1986, Ugala Theater 1989 - 1991 and 1986 - 1995 Drama School of Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre. Till his death in 2017 he was the professor of University of Tartu Viljandi Culture Academy. You can see his students remembering him and his last interviews in documentary “Koma”.
