In order to prepare the celebrations for 35th anniversary since graduating from the upper secondary school, a few former classmates have gathered at Bo Ekström's place. Documentary by Vello Kallaste about Hans Kruus, a historian and politician with colourful destiny, in the turmoil of historical events.

Hans Kruus (1891-1976) was a left-wing academician who had high-rank positions in state institutions after the war: he was the People's Commissar of the foreign affairs in the Estonian SSR and later the head of Academy of Sciences of Estonian SSR. His career was interrupted when he became ostrasized by Stalinist repression as a bourgeois nationalist in 1950. The filmmakers have used archival materials about the events of early days of Soviet order in Estonian SSR.
