Documentary about the process of preparing for the olympic regatta held in Tallinn.

Documentary gives an overview about the construction of the premises for olympic games, yachting regatta in Tallinn. For the sailing regatta of Moscow Summer Olympic Games in 1980, numerous buildings were constructed in Tallinn: Tallinn Olympic Yachting Centre, Linnahall, Hotel "Olümpia", Tallinn Airport, TV Tower, restaurant "Pirita" among others. Also, the old town of Tallinn was renovated and the streets were reconstructed. People worked on various objects more than 1,2 million working hours without pay. The documentary follows the construction of olympic buildings.

Archival film materials about Aleksei Müürisepp's meetings in Kremlin, Ulyanovsk, Tehumardi, Kunda and elsewhere. Georg Ots, Enn Põldroos, Vladimir Beekmann, Juhan Smuul, Vladimir Alumäe, Lembit Kaik, Tiit Kuusik, Artur Vader, Valter Klauson, Johannes Käbin and many others can be seen on the screen.

Estonian Film Database (EFDB)

The database is maintained by NGO Estonian Film Database. It was opened on 12.12.2012 and is meant for providing information about the whole Estonian film heritage from 1912. We plan fully complete it by 2025 but already now full and partial entries for about 20 000 films, 27 000 filmmakers, and more than 200 production companies could be retrieved in Estonian and partly in English. Translation of film descriptions and keywords into English is ongoing but due to the scarcity of resources quite a slow process. Read more detailed overview.
