Uku Masing (11.08.1909-25.04.1985, born in Raikküla parish, Lipa village) was a theologician, Orientalist, philosopher, poet, folklorist and ethnologist. The residents of Masing's home village recall their memories about Uku Masing and his family; the documentary also reflects the events that took place during celebrating Masing's 90th anniversary in Estonia.

The love story with nostalgic atmosphere begins with the innocent affection of childhood between Johannes, son of a miller, and Victoria, daughter of a well-off landowner. Their affection grows into a burning flame of love that will be extinguished by the social status of the wealthy and bourgeois false morality.

Expatriate Estonian, poet Kalju Lepik, visits his fatherland Estonia after having been away from it for about 50 years.

Poet Kalju Lepik, expatriate Estonian living in Sweden, is awarded Juhan Liiv poetry award for his poetry series "Old melodies" published in 1989 in Estonia. When coming to receive his award in Juhan Liiv's birth place Alatskivi, Lepik visits his home country for the first time after having been away for about fifty years. The poet goes to see the places of his childhood in Koeru as well as visits his mother after a long period of separation. In the background the author reads his own poetry.
