Original title (in Estonian): "Presidendipoeg"

Students film | Drama Duration 07:06

Plot summary

Karl is about to go to school in the morning. He dresses up in a smart suit and sets out. His father is not home and asks him to take the car via text message. At school, during a recess, Karl tells his friends about holiday plans to Bora Bora. He brags about his fathers success in business, putting him at the top in list of best businessmen in Estonia. He then recieves a phone call from his father’s secretary who tells him that his father cannot go on holiday as he is too busy at work. Karl is disappointed. He returns to his friends and turns the bad news around, claiming he doesn’t want to go on holiday as he spends too much time with his father anyway. Joosep, a poor classmate, passes the table of the cool kids. Karl mocks his trousers. Joosep returns his stab by talking about Karl’s real weaknesses: his father is never there for him and lets his secretary do his communication. Next day, when Karl gets to school again, a girl asks him out. Karl refuses. He tries to reach his father, but even the secretary is unavailable. Karl becomes increasingly worried. At home in the evening, Karl finds the news online about his father’s tax fraud. Next day at school, his friends do not want to have anything to do with him. It is Joosep who comes to ask if he is ok, but Karl is too proud to share his burden.
