Desire to get somewhere, out of the process, endless dividing that never ends, but always ends up somewhere. Pulls and drags to the new, but similar with the old. A story about quilt, lacking in oneself, what reflects the lacking in everything around us. All is siding, dividing, multiplying, appearing, disappearing. Watching, suspecting. Fear that comes from triviality.

The film directed by Veljo Käsper is based on the short story "Little Requiem for Harmonica" by Enn Vetemaa, telling the story about understanding between different generations.

Jaan and Heiki are two students crossing the river of time in 1972. On the other side of that river is the occupied Estonia in the autumn of 1944. The film is about the painful collision between two eras and two mentalities. The young men have to make difficult decisions in order to stay alive. The film conveys the message that is against war, Fascism, Bourgeois nationalism, and abstract humanism; it supports the idea of understanding between generations and the unity of ideals and objectives.

Estonian Film Database (EFDB)

The database is maintained by NGO Estonian Film Database. It was opened on 12.12.2012 and is meant for providing information about the whole Estonian film heritage from 1912. We plan fully complete it by 2025 but already now full and partial entries for about 20 000 films, 27 000 filmmakers, and more than 200 production companies could be retrieved in Estonian and partly in English. Translation of film descriptions and keywords into English is ongoing but due to the scarcity of resources quite a slow process. Read more detailed overview.
