Pärnu mud baths celebrated its 150-year anniversary in 1988. The documentary observes the consequences of the extensive development of health centers and industry during the post-war period in the resort town of Pärnu. That has been in acute opposition with the actual needs of the town. The water of Pärnu Bay is hopelessly contaminated, the social-economical development of the town has fallen behind for about ten years.

Estonian-mindedness is expressed through the selection of topic, visual language as well as the soundtrack. Among the themes there are the national identity of Estonians, fellowship, local nature and culture. The message is slightly circumspect yet emphasizing Estonian mentality and nationality throughout the film.
