Taking a tour in the past has been interwoven with mythical ancient history, yet drawing parallels with today's society. In the second part Lennart Meri tells about Finnish folklore collector Elias Lönnrot's trip to Estonia and his meetings with Estonian intellectuals in 1844. Estonian National Opera Theatre celebrated its 75th anniversary in autumn 1981 and the filmmakers take the viewers back to the past events. Olga Mikk-Krull, Marta Rungi and Endel Pärn recall their memories of legendary people in the theatre. Archival materials from older and newer times, in addition to numerous photographic materials. Excerpts of music from operas, operettas and ballets, from the both present and past repertoire of the theatre are performed by Margarita Voites, Voldemar Kuslap, Georg Ots, Helgi Sallo, Endel Pärn, Leili Tammel, Elita Erkina, Tiit Härm and many others. Voiceover by Gunnar Kilgas.
