The sequel to „The Waterfowl People“. The author of the film interprets the kinship, linguistic and cultural relations of the Finno-Ugric peoples. Finns, Vepsians, Votes, Setos, Erzya-Mordvinians, Mansis, Hungarians, Sámi, Nganasans and Estonians appear in the film. The film was shot in 1977 on locations in northern Finland, Sámi, Vepsia, Votia, Mordovia, Khantia-Mansia, Hungary, the Taymyr Peninsula, Setomaa region in Estonia and in Saaremaa and Muhu islands, Estonia. Some footage was also filmed in Nenetsia in 1970.

The married writers' couple Enn and Helga Nõu spend time with their small children in their hometown Uppsala in 1967 and 1968: children's birthdays and domestic holidays, visits to friends' places.

Sculpture of Bror Hjorth in front of the Uppsala railway station. Heino Nõu is riding his bike, Laine and Liia Nõu are playing with the children of the Klingspor family. On December 13, there is the party of St. Lucia's Day on Gröna Street. Heino Nõu turns six years old. Children with Christmas presents. In February 1968 Laine is skating, Heino and Liia go sledging. Liia turns three in February, birthday party at home on Gröna Street.

Estonian Film Database (EFDB)

The database is maintained by NGO Estonian Film Database. It was opened on 12.12.2012 and is meant for providing information about the whole Estonian film heritage from 1912. We plan fully complete it by 2025 but already now full and partial entries for about 20 000 films, 27 000 filmmakers, and more than 200 production companies could be retrieved in Estonian and partly in English. Translation of film descriptions and keywords into English is ongoing but due to the scarcity of resources quite a slow process. Read more detailed overview.
