Vahur Linnuste, an expatriate Estonian living in Paris, has promoted Estonian spirit, nation and culture abroad for many decades. He tells his colourful story of life and expresses his opionion about the backgrounds of politics in Europe and the whole world that have influenced the development of the Republic of Estonia.

Vahur Linnuste (born in 1925, in Tallinn, Estonia), son of a military man, studied economy related issues already as a schoolboy. The documentary introduces his childhood memories when he was living in the borderstate between two different cultural spaces - Europe and Russia - and the collapse of the Republic of Estonia in the summer of 1940 when the small independent country of Estonia was united with the empire of Soviet Union.
