Sometimes it is hard to make a difference who makes a better hunter - the one who takes from nature or who takes care of nature and animals.

The documentary introduces Estonian wild animals, hunting and taking care of them and gives a short history about the history and traditions of hunting. The ways of hunting are treated according to seasons: beaver hunt in spring; game stalking for goats and wild boars in summer; fowling in autumn, game stalking and battue for moose; bear hunt; battue for wild board and hunting predators (wold, lynx, fox, raccoon dog) in winter. Humorous short film for children directed by Rao Heidmets about Anu and her friend Grassbird, two stupid animal catchers and their adventures.

Little girl Anu befriends with a strange being called Grassbird. Together they experience adventures where also two gawky animal catchers add suspense. Anu and Grassbird first manage to escape the catchers but not for long. Finally, the stupid guys succeed in catching them and Grassbird is put into the same cage with a lion in the zoo. Anu hurries to save her friend.

Estonian Film Database (EFDB)

The database is maintained by NGO Estonian Film Database. It was opened on 12.12.2012 and is meant for providing information about the whole Estonian film heritage from 1912. We plan fully complete it by 2025 but already now full and partial entries for about 20 000 films, 27 000 filmmakers, and more than 200 production companies could be retrieved in Estonian and partly in English. Translation of film descriptions and keywords into English is ongoing but due to the scarcity of resources quite a slow process. Read more detailed overview.
