The film is about a dysfunctional couple Rain and Deelia whose life goals and choices are moving towards different directions.

The story takes place during a 24-hour time frame marking Deelia’s 30th birthday where Rain reveals to her friends that they are expecting a baby. Rain plans to surprise Deelia with a birthday picnic in a newly bought house but things don’t go accordingly. Rain spends his night alone in an empty suburban house while Deelia is escaping reality, partying with her lover and friends. In the morning when the sense of responsibility hits, Deelia is taken to the house in the suburbs, where she is forced to face her problems.

We see her in her Haanjamaa farm and in her rose garden, which she established years ago while working in Helsinki hospitals and commuting between Estonia and Finland. The brief scenes in an idyllic rural location, staged in the manner of Victorian era paintings, are linked with more realistic shots about Helgi's trip to East-Helsinki to visit her daughter's family.
