The documentary depicts monuments and heritage artwork that have been closely related to the history of the Republic of Estonia. Estonian sculptors, former prisoners, social scientists and art historians share their memories in the film. Why do we need our monuments? What kind of attitude has been towards Estonian monuments and heritage artwork during the changing times in local history? Memorial columns can be victims of ideology. Estonia has been governed by several state authorities during the 20th century, all of them have left their own monuments. The destiny of numerous military monuments in East-Europe has become an actual issue.

Archaeologist Jaak Mäll decides to reconstruct a firearm dating back to 14th century. He uses medieval skills and technology in doing that.

The fragments of the oldest firearm known from Estonia were found during the archaeological excavations of the Otepää castle in 1955 but identified as such only in the late 1980s. In this film the "handgonne" from Otepää is brought back to life by archaeologist Jaak Mäll - re-fabricated using mediaeval technologies and trial-shot with gunpowder made according the recipes from the early 15th century.

The feature film is an Estonian-Ukrainian co-production directed by Roman Shirman. It is a contemporary fairy tale about two hostile kingdoms where the princess of one country and the king of the other country fall in love with each other. Despite of all obstacles - the evil stepmother, the mean wizard, and the revengeful warriors - love will conquer everything.

The fairy tale full of irony takes place in two neighbouring countries - Warlike Kingdom and Unhappy Kingdom - and tells about young lovers, sly intriguers and reckless warriors. The residents of the Warlike Kingdom cannot stop purposeless fighting, the habitants of Unhappy Kingdom keep complaining about their wretched fate. As if often happens in fairy tales, the princess of the Unhappy Kingdom falls in love with the young king of the Warlike Kingdom. Andres has become disabled and lost his daughter after a car accident a year ago. Now his days go by idling in a wheelchair. He is celebrating his birthday in his private house. An old family friend, doctor Indrek arrives unexpectedly to Andres's party, invited by his wife Margit. Indrek and Margit are lovers and he has brought a briefcase full of morphine. Margit is bored of his husband and her love affair becomes apparent. All this plus greed leads the way to an irreversible chain of events.
