TV interview with a Latvian Canadian mother whose daughter happened to in the middle of the tragic events in Riga while going on a trip to Latvia.

Latvian mother contacts her daughter, who has taken a trip to Latvia, on the phone. The daughter happens to get into the middle of the tragic events in central Riga where the Soviet OMON commando started to shoot the unarmed protesters on barricades on January 20, 1991. Among the protesters was also her daughter. Naturally, mother's worry for her daughter's safety was extremely big, fortunately she made it.
