The documentary is divided into three parts: the first part has been dedicated to ancient bearers of memory such as Karelian rock paintings, poetry of Kalevala, the Khanti bear funeral ceremony. Taking a tour in the past has been interwoven with mythical ancient history, yet drawing parallels with today's society. In the second part Lennart Meri tells about Finnish folklore collector Elias Lönnrot's trip to Estonia and his meetings with Estonian intellectuals in 1844. The musical fairy tale film directed by Helle Murdmaa is based on the motives of Estonian and Nordic folklore. The film tells the story about a selfish princess Karoliine who will learn a lot from her journey together with a mysterious guide named Kaspar.

Karoliine is a spoiled and selfish princess who will meet swamp ogres and sleep fairies, a mermaid and a werewolf on her journey. A bunch of robbers will take her to their cave. Despite of having a smart and helpful guide Kaspar with her, Karoliine has to get rid of her selfishness and inconsideration towards others. She is gradually becoming brave and good-hearted that will eventually lead her to the presence of mind and real love.

The debut feature film directed by Helle Murdmaa is based on the children's story "Bumpy" by Oskar Luts. It is a musical fairy tale about the good and the evil, represented by sister and brother, Iti and Kusti, and by the family of forest ogres. The songs written by Olav Ehala for the film have become nationally known and beloved while being chosen also to the repertoire of Estonian song festivals.

One beautiful morning the toddler of the forest ogre family gets a babysitter, a little girl named Iti. She and her brother Kusti have been decoyed into a deep forest by a witch who wants to make them work in her ogre's household. Despite the extremely hard times she has with the toddler, Iti won't lose her patience and the little Bumpy starts to behave like a normal child. The documentary is dedicated to land improvement, agricultural tools and the peculiarity of Estonian soil - the non-chernozemic zone. A special attention is being given to melioration and soil preparation, but also to the rational use of soil preparation tools in bigger production enterprises. Human relation to the prepared land is being viewed, namely the moments of alienation of the relation. The filmmakers have chosen publicist means of expression both in image and in text.
