Film chronicle about the cultural life of expatriate Estonians in Sweden in 1964-1970.

1964-1965. August Torma, Elmar Kirotar, Aleksander Warma, Edgar Pärli, Evald Uustalu, Aksel Linkhorst and Ernst Sarepera are visiting diplomatist Heinrich Laretei in his home in Stockholm. Exhibition of Estonian books is opened in Carolina Rediviva on October 13, 1966. Aksel Mark, Valter Tauli, Jakob Aunver, Johannes Lindvere, Sakari Vaapasalo, Joosep Nõu, Jaan Mets ja Tiiu Mets, Marga Aamisepp, Arnold Kivimäe, Helga and Enn Nõu are present at the opening. Aleksander Warma's 75th birthday in Stockholm on June 22, 1965. Expatriate Estonian social and cultural activists are also there. The musical comedy directed by Yuli Kun is full of romantic intrigues, sports and hazarding. It is a story about an attractive bike constructor Rita and three young men who become fierce competitors both in sports and in love. Starring the Russian film actress Lyudmila Gurchenko.

Attractive bike constructor Rita has completed a brand new racing bike model called the Light Blue Antelope. She is looking for somene to test the new bike at Tallinn-Riga bicycle race but no one among the bicycle racers will agree. Then she seems to find the right solution - her new acquaintances Robert and Leo are two successful sportsmen. There are two parallel plot lines in the film: next to the abovementioned story, there is another one, an animated parody depicting the adventures of Author and Director during the film shooting and at the arts council.

Married writers' couple Enn and Helga Nõu spend time with their small children in Skansen Zoo, Stockholm.

Family visits Skansen zoo in Stockholm on September 8, 1963. Among the animals and birds in the zoo there are Indian elephants, monkeys, sea lions, penguins, swans, goats, cows, polar bears and brown bears. The children are enjoying the children's zoo where they can pet rabbits, chicks, ducklings and play with kittens. Besides this they can ride carousels and electric toy cars.

Estonian Film Database (EFDB)

The database is maintained by NGO Estonian Film Database. It was opened on 12.12.2012 and is meant for providing information about the whole Estonian film heritage from 1912. We plan fully complete it by 2025 but already now full and partial entries for about 20 000 films, 27 000 filmmakers, and more than 200 production companies could be retrieved in Estonian and partly in English. Translation of film descriptions and keywords into English is ongoing but due to the scarcity of resources quite a slow process. Read more detailed overview.
