The film shows the emotional moments during the preparation phase of the festival, its colourful procession and the festival itself, the honoring ceremony of the choirmasters and dance masters. The slogans express insisting on freedom and independence for Estonia. The film has recorded festive speeches, various female gymnasts, folk dancers and choirs.

The second international Estonian Days held in Baltimore in 1976. Washington, New York City, procession of ESTO, opening and the events. 8th Estonian General Song Celebration in Gothenburg, 1977.

Expatriate Estonians in Sweden fly to Baltimore. Takeoff, view of the clouds. The special ESTO Freedom Train rides from Baltimore to Washington. Procession from the train station to the Capitol Building of the United States where speeches are held, protesting against the Soviet power in Estonia. Estonians are greeted by John Glenn Beall, the Senator of Maryland State. Estonian Film Database (EFDB)

The database is maintained by NGO Estonian Film Database. It was opened on 12.12.2012 and is meant for providing information about the whole Estonian film heritage from 1912. We plan fully complete it by 2025 but already now full and partial entries for about 20 000 films, 27 000 filmmakers, and more than 200 production companies could be retrieved in Estonian and partly in English. Translation of film descriptions and keywords into English is ongoing but due to the scarcity of resources quite a slow process. Read more detailed overview.
