Documentary about composer Heino Eller, commissioned by the Ministry of Culture of Estonian SSR. The film is dedicated to the 100th birth anniversary of Heino Eller who was born on March 7, 1887.

PPianist and music teacher Heljo Sepp recalls her beloved teacher and composer Heino Eller. She talks about her PhD dissertation at the Moscow Conservatoire where she researched the piano music by Heino Eller. She is interviewed by music historian Ivalo Randalu. They walk in Kadriorg Park, in Eller's summer home in Laulasmaa and by the sea. Background music is Eller's "Melody of Homeland" ("Kodumaine viis"). Heljo Sepp has a lot to say about its harmony, dynamics, tension of the piece; she also recalls the story of how she found the piece and titled it.

Valmar Adams (1899-1993), writer and literary historian with artistic nature, has played an important part as a mediator of Russian literature and culture while working in the facuclty of Russian language and literature at the University of Tartu during 1931-1974. First poems in Russian and German were published already in 1915; he was also the co-author of "Via Sacra", an almanac in Russian published in Tartu.
