Film director Janno Põldma was born on November 7, 1950 in Tallinn. Graduated from Tallinn Secondary School No. 36 in 1969. Worked in Tallinnfilm Studio since 1973. He started as an assistant cameraman and later worked as a cameraman. He has filmed about 20 animated films (most of Priit Pärn’s films, Rein Raamat’s The Great Tõll, Hell and so on). He made his directing debut in the Nukufilm puppet animation film department of Tallinnfilm Studio in 1991 with the puppet film Brothers and Sisters.
Tristan Priimägi studied Semiotics in the Tartu University. He graduated with a BA in 2001, specializing in film semiotics. Since then has been working for different advertising agencies and been a driving force in several cultural projects like the graphic design webzine "Beta" and the "Plink Plonk" music festival. In addition to that, he has been a regular contributor to all the bigger press publications, newspapers and magazines, writing about film, music and pop culture in general, helped with translation and promotion work for Estonian films and film events and been a member of the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival selection committee for several years. From 2010 has organized DocPoint Tallinn - an Estonian branch of the renowned Helsinki documentary festival DocPoint.
Ilmar Raag (born 1968) is the writer and director of the most successful film ever made in Estonia - "Class" (2007), which was sold to 91 countries, received a national Oscar nomination, won 25 awards from 70 festivals, and developed into a successful multi-awarded TV-series. Ilmar’s filmography also includes „Une Estonienne à Paris“ (Locarno FF, Estonia-France-Belgium, 2012), „Kertu. Love Is Blind“ (Warsaw FF, 2013) and „I Won’t Come Back“ (Tribeca FF, Nora Ephron Jury Special Mention, Estonia-Russia-Finland-
