Mattias Mälk

Screenwriter and animation director Mattias Mälk (b. 1987) studied animation at the Estonian Academy of Arts, completing MA studies with his student film "Tutu Funnytooth" (2011). Since then, Mattias has worked as an animator at Tolm Studio and as an artist at Eesti Joonisfilm. There, he directed fantasy horror films "Northern Starfish" (2014) and "Strawberry Eaters" (2018). He then worked at BOP Animation on the feature-length stop motion film "The Old Man: The Movie" (2019) and was the background artist for A Film Estonia’s children's film "Poop and Spring" (2021).
