Requiem to the Whooper Swan (2003)

Original title: Reekviem laululuigele

Documentary Duration 30:00

Sünopsis

The Whooper Swan does not usually breed in Estonia. But in spring and autumn the coastal shallow waters echo with its polyphonic cries. The Whooper Swan stays here for weeks to gain strength for long migration. In spring it is a winter visitor to the North, in autumn to the shores of the Mediterranean. Still there is one place in Estonia where the Whooper Swan breeds. The place is called Jäneda and local people have childhood recollections of the swans. The relations between nature and people are almost perfect there. But the life of swans in Jäneda still has its dark side. Film belongs to the collection “Get to Know the Estonian Nature”
