Jaroslav (2020)

Story follows a 9-year-old Latvian-Russian boy who’s learning in a bilingual program in Latvia.

Movie starts with outside of school, the bell rings to the lesson. Kids run. We go into the classroom and experience Latvian language lesson. We get to know the main character Jaroslav who starts speaking. Then there’s a break, Jaroslav interacts with his classmates. Then Russian language lesson starts. Jaroslav goes to home, plays chess with his grandfather, makes dinner with his mum, plays with lego. Jaroslav is in the car, going to school. The lesson starts, it’s Latvian. Then Social sciences lesson starts, Jaroslav presents his topic in front of the class. Bell rings and day ends. Classroom stay empty, lights turn off.
