Eat me! (2016)

Students film | Comedy | Musical films, dance Duration 20:56

Plot summary

Human’s relationship to food, its contents and food waste.

Laura (Luiza Grigorova) and her older gluttonous lover Robert (Nigel Barber) are having dinner in a fancy restaurant. Laura takes pills, trying to avoid eating. She goes to the toilet, where she sees herself as fat.
Back at the table Robert is eating as much as he can , while Laura barely puts anything in her mouth. Yet she takes a selfie with the food, where we see for the fisrt time all the food characters. Suddenly The French Fry jumps from the plate and starts singing. Then follows the Fish and the Tomato. Laura is in a shock, she doesn’t know how to react. The Chicken also joins in. The lyrics have an ironic allegory to the food contents and origin. The main refrain of the musical part is Eat, eat we are so delicious.
The Food jumps of the table and becomes bigger, they take in Laura in their dance. She tries to get a protection from Robert , but he has a pig mask on. Finally the Food forces Laura on the stage, where she admits, she is afraid of eating, because she wouldn’t like to become fat.
Yet in reality there is no singing and dancing Food and Robert disappointed of Laura’s behavior orders that she is thrown out in the trash bin.
In the trash bin Laura meets the crying Pastry and takes her in her hands and eats her.
Back in the restaurant we can see that Robert already has a new girlfriend very similar to Laura. While Laura in the trash bin has accepted that she needs to eat and starts eating from the food in the trash.
The film ends with a song about the dubious effects of food additives, inspired by Hair’s musical.
