Beauty of Fatherland (2001)

This film takes a look at two matriarchs: Tiina Jantson reigns over the mini-Miss and Miss Estonia  empires, Anne Eenpalu leads the forces of militant-patriotic girl scout organization. Our main characters are very different. Whereas Anne’s teaching method is imbued with love for the fatherland, Tiina’s world spins around the sparkling vortex of showbiz. But there is also something similar about these women. Beauty of the Fatherland takes a glance at the values, gender roles, and mores in Estonia at the beginning of the 21st century.
