Siren (2023)

A fairy tale with a modern twist, where all the old and familiar fantasy characters have turned out to be terrible criminals.

Toomas (Taavi Teplenkov) is keeping an eye on a window from the house next door, where he occasionally sees Eevi (Lee Trei), his charming neighbor. A radio plays in the background and announcements of wanted fairytale characters can be heard. Toomas musters up his courage and when he later finally meets Eevi in the yard, he invites her over for dinner.
Anxious about the evening ahead, Toomas drives to buy groceries and accidentally crashes into a mermaid. Feeling a combination of fear and anxiety, he decides to take her home. A policeman also appears on the crime scene, but to Toomas’ surprise, warns him about parking on the bridge instead. Leading the police then on a false trail by lying about seeing the Seven Dwarfs, Toomas hurries home, where he falls under the spell of the mermaid. The spell is interrupted by his neighbor Eevi, who has arrived for an expected dinner. Toomas tries to hide the mermaid, but eventually Eevi finds out what really happened. She tries to call the emergency services, but to no avail, because in the course of the scuffle, the mermaid eats her mobile phone. Unexpectedly, the police are at the door, and Eevi, Toomas and the mermaid are forced to escape through the tiny window in the bathroom. The chase begins. At one point, Toomas stops the car - Eevi wants him to throw the mermaid out of the car. They are caught by the police. Eevi and Toomas are terrified, fearing arrest.
But again, the police warn them against parking on the bridge. Then, Toomas and Eevi discover that the mermaid is no longer in the car - she has gone her own way. Breathing a sigh of relief, they now accidentally back up into Snow White, who is immediately helped by the Seven Dwarfs.
