The Story of Rosa Salvaje (2020)

Audiovisual media students’ short film explores the unexpected popularity of Mexican telenovela ‘’Rosa Salvaje’’ in Estonia.

Through interviews and archival footage Anne Kirsipuu, Hagi Šein, Kaisa Ling and Toomas Lasmann talk about Estonian television after the restoration of independence and the most popular television series of the time ‘’Rosa Salvaje’’. The film explores how exactly and why this particular show was selected and what was the reaction of the viewers.
Additionally viewers who were fans of the show as kids share their memories.
