Plot summary

The autobiographical documentary "From the Wave and the Stone" tells the story of an author who for a long time really wanted to move somewhere from her home city, St. Petersburg. One day, she finally moves to Tallinn. And only then she begins to understand how she loves her hometown and how she misses it. The entire film is a monologue of the author mixed with urban landscapes views, mainly St. Petersburg, but sometimes also Tallinn. The author shows the places in which she grew up, talks about dreams and childhood memories, shares her favourite thoughts about her favourite places in the new city. Gradually, it becomes clear that the author found harmony in her soul and realised her love for her home city, as well as the fact that only there she will always feel at home. Because her roots and her heart belong to Petersburg.
