Jüri (Üllar saaremäe), a tired policeman, arrives home late in the evening, when he notices a light coming from the barn. Someone has broken in. Jüri tries to lure the stranger (Erki Laur) out of the dark barn by threatening to shoot him. The stranger doesnt cooperate. Hearing all of this, Märt (Kristo Toots), Jüris brother comes to his aid. Märt sneaks next to the barn while Jüri throws away the gun, hoping to convince the stranger to come out. It works, but the stranger is surprised when Jüri and Märt forcefully catch him.
Jüri questions the stranger in the cellar house. The stranger tells the policeman that he is a traveller, who was looking for shelter, but Jüri doesnt believe him. Based on possible evidence that he finds, Jüri accuses the man of being a wanted serial arsonist and makes a decision to take him to court the next day. In the morning, Jüri brings the stranger to his dining room to eat breakfast. The stranger demonstratively disrespects Jüri and refuses to eat. Jüri holds back his anger and takes the stranger out of the dining room. Jüri readies themselves for the ride to the courthouse.
On the road, the stranger starts to jab at the policemans past. After some provoking, Jüri has enough and decides to stop moving. He takes the stranger off the road, to kill him. The stranger kneels before him, Jüri waits and waits, but doesnt shoot. The strangers seizes the situation and stabs Jüri in the throat with a fork he stole from the dining room.
