Igor Ruus was born in 1954 in Tallinn, USSR. Igor studied photography in the 1970s and after a few years of practice in the field, he continued his studies at the famous Moscow Institute of Cinematography. From 1984 to 1991 he worked as a cinematographer at Tallinnfilm, ETV (the national Estonian TV channel), and Eesti Reklaamfilm.
