Olga Pärn (Olga Marchenko - maiden name) was born on January 1, 1976 in Minsk (Byelorussia). Graduated from the Minsk Lyceum of Art in 1994. Graduated from the graphic arts department (specialising in intaglio) at the Byelorussian Academy of Art in 2000. Worked as an art director and animator (specialising in sand animation) in the animation department at Belarusfilm Studio in 1996-2003. Completed a course in film directing at the La Poudriere animation school in France from 2003 to 2005. Subsequently worked for half a year in Paris as a storyboard artist.
