Sünopsis

Festive meeting in the concert hall of the Estonia National Opera. May 1st demonstration of the workers of Tallinn and the military parade on Victory Square (Võidu väljak).

Representatives of the naval fleet, the Soviet army, social organizations and workers of Tallinn have gathered to the concert hall of the Estonian National Opera, decorated with flags and slogans. Eduard Päll, the chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Estonian Soviet Socialist Republic emphasizes great progress in the development of local industry, agriculture and fields of culture in his speech. The meeting welcomes the greeting to Jossif Stalin with a great applause. Võidu square (Victory Square), view to the Harjumägi hill and the old town of Tallinn. Military units are ready for the May 1st parade. Nikolai Karotamm, Arnold Veimar and Eduard Päll, heads of the Communist Party and government, come to the grandstand. Admiral Vladimir Tributs greets the soldiers who have lined up for the parade. The parade march begins. Naval and infantry soldiers with the motorized combat units pass the grandstand. The column of the central Tallinn district opens the workers' parade, accompanied by the music by brass orchestra. The people carry flags, slogans, transparencies and the portraits of the heads of Communist Party and government. Representatives of the field of science and art as well as young reserve workers and athletes pass by, led by European wrestling champion Johannes Kotkas. Facilities collectives demonstrate their achievements at work with original mock-up pieces. Schoolchildren and lecturers are waving with the flower bouquets.
