Based on a ballady by an Estonian poet Marie Under. It's a tragical-lyrical puppet film about brides who drown themselves in a swamp, because enemies have killed their fiance's and devastated their land. The action of the film is played in controversary sequence - the re-meeting with their fiance's in the finale of the film acquires meaning of resurrection.
