Documentary about men who are always on guard while protecting the border of homeland. The film shows Soviet border guards during their daily work full of responsibility and at the leisure time – giving the soldier's oath, meetings with the close ones, during the training, at the night shift etc. Aleksei Müürisell, the head of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of Estonian SSR, fastens the Order of Red Flag to the flag of 106th border guard group.
