Lake town Viljandi (1983)

Viljandi celebrates its 700th anniversary in the autumn of 1983. The newsreel shows the big event and the camera follows a legendary local resident in Viljandi called the Zither-Ott who talks to the town people, plays the zither, visits the antique book store and an outdoor theatrical play by Ugala Theatre in the castle hills, Viljandi. The filmmakers also visit the match factory, industry of leather accessories "Linda" as well as the pork processing factory in Viiratsi. They also go to a chess competition and a lake race. The emotional newsreel is well brought together by Zither-Ott's walk and his simple-minded monologues.
