Elsa Maasik (1970)

Chamberlike portrait about Elsa Maasik (1908-1991), a prominent Estonian soprano and opera prima donna. Documentary shows moments from a solo concert. In 1935, Elsa Maasik graduated from Aleksander Arder singing class at Tallinn Conservatoire, later she additionally studied in Germany, France, Italy. In 1933-1935 she worked in Endla Theatre, in 1935-1941 in Theatre Vanemuine and in 1941-1963 in Estonian National Opera Theatre. A piece of film chronicle by Tallinnfilm has been used in the documentary. Writer Lilli Promet is having a converstation with the singer.
