Adel was only 12-years old when the civil war in Syria reached his hometown. His parents immediately decided to leave the country. For four years, Adel and his family lived abroad as illegal refugees. They travelled from country to country, slept on the streets, fought hunger and diseases. However, their life changed when they got a message from the refugee organisaWon: A small nordic country, which they had never heard of before, accepted them as temporary ciWzens. Now, Adel has to learn to deal with the injuries of his past, and to the cold climate and reserved society of Estonia.
