Sünopsis

Freedom fighter Sergei Soldatov recalls of the times of war, entrance of the Russian forces into Estonia, deportation, the Forest Brothers in "Eesti Kodu" in Uppsala on November 13, 1981. Fortunately, illegal extraction of mineral resources and logging was prevented due to mental resistance. He also recalls of the times when the resistance fight began in 1966 and the political activities during these years, including the establishment of Estonian Democratic Movement and People's Front in Estonia. Underground magazines "Estonian Democrat" and "The National Voice of Estonia" were published; two memoranda were sent to the United Nations. As a result of the actions by KGB, arrestments, interrogations and imprisonment followed in 1975. He talks about the destinies of other freedom fighters, including Mart Niklus, Jüri Kukk, Tiit Madisson, Veljo Kalep, Vello Salum, and about the end of imprisonment and his expatriation. Sergei Soldatov adds that he believes that Estonia will regain its independence. He is agitating people to express moral, material as well as political support to Estonia's attempt to regain its freedom.
