16th Estonian Days in Australia continue on December 29 with a folk dance celebration in the Estonian House, Melbourne. The folk dance group "Virmalised" of the expatriate Estonians in Sydney and the group "Vikerkaar" from Adelaide give their performances. After the programme, Bruno Metsar gives flower bouquets to the dance leaders Aaron Tamme, Madis Alvre, organizer Lembit Willems. Vilma Kiviväli expresses her gratitude to the participants. Choir concert takes place at the Estonian House on December 30. Women's choirs open the concert. Women's choir "Kodu" from Melbourne and the female singers of the mixed choir "Vanemuise" from Sydney perform the songs by Mart Saar and Eduard Oja, conducted by Eili Annuk and Karin Adamson. The opening song of the men's choirs is "Estonian brothers, let's sing with joy", conducted by Ausma Taves. Choral songs by Juhan Aavik and Veljo Tormis are performed, conducted by Laine Helm and Kalev Mitt. Linda Holzhimer performs pieces by Sibelius and Chopin on a piano as an interlude. United choir with 110 members comes to the stage. Eight songs from different authors are performed, the choirs are conducted by Eili Annuk, Astrid Bowler, Aino Moyle, Kalev Mitt and Ausma Taves. The general leader of the Estonian Days Bruno Metsar expresses his gratitude to the participants and gives flowers to choirmasters and organizers. A group photograph is taken. The flag of the Estonian Days is passed on to the next organizers on the New Year's Eve ball on December 31st. Clinking glasses at midnight, fireworks.
