Sünopsis

Young scouts' camp "Tallinn", organized by the Association of Estonian Scouts in Sweden, takes place near Eskilstuna in Solvik by Lake Mälaren on July 22-26. The main emphasis of the camp is that the boys could obtain stronger memories of their homeland through games, competitions and other events. In order to give the young scouts' camps an authentic and interesting background, the summer camps of 1953 have been given the names of three Estonian towns: Tallinn, Pärnu and Haapsalu. "Tallinn" is a tent camp. The young scouts arrive at Eskilstuna railway station where the bus takes them to the camp. Setting up tents, day programme on the notice board. Opening of the camp: line-up, reporting, speeches, hoisting the national flag of Estonia to the tower of "Pikk Hermann". View to the tentage. Going to sleep in the evening, waking up in the morning with the morning exercise and washing by the lake. Breakfast is made at the same time in the camp. The boys have their breakfast and do the dishes afterwards. Morning line-up with checking the scouts' uniform and the condition of tents, hoisting of the camp flag. Orienteering run held in the forest, swimming in the lake afterwards. Playing dodgeball. Having a mean again, a small prayer is said before sitting at the table. Camp leaders check the children's outfit and the tents. Morning jogging and exercises. The young scouts' day is filled with playing football and games of skill. Group leaders and camp leaders test their skills in cricket. The first-aid station offers help with small injuries. Competition in various types of freestyle running. Visiting day in the camp: heads of scout leagues and parents have arrived, everyone is participating in the evening with the camp fire. Scoutmasters hold speeches at the finishing event and give the young scouts little presents. Children are packing their bags and take down the tents. Camp flags are taken down, children say thank you to the cooking staff. Children get on the bus with their backpacks.
