The documentary introduces the activities of Mikhail Kalinin, statesman, Bolshevik and revolutionary of the Soviet Union, in Tallinn 1901–1904. During these years, Kalinin worked as a metal worker in Volta factory, founded an underground printhouse, and actively introduced the newspaper "Iskra" that was founded by Lenin. Photos, archival materials and archival films have been used in the documentary. Kalinin's former colleague Eduard Pärdi and Kalinin's younger sister Praskovya Ivanovna Kalinina share their memories of Kalinin. The film has been dedicated to Kalinin's 100th birth anniversary.
