Boys Choir Arrival (1) (1989)

The amateur video recorded by Edgar Väär shows the arrival of the Boy's Choir of the Estonian National Male Choir to Toronto in autumn 1989, their reception and greeting by the local community.
Video begins with reception of the choir, festive speeches and the greeting song by the local male choir; also, Estonian and Canadian national flags can be seen in the background. The Boys' Choir arrives by school buses from the airport, together with the musicians from the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra. The Toronto Estonian House is bustling with people. Heikki Paara, head of the Estonian Song Society in Canada, and Ilmar Heinsoo, Estonian Honorary Consul in Canada hold their welcoming speeches. Toronto Estonian Male Choir sings a greeting song. Venno Laul holds a speech of gratitude.
