Sünopsis

Members of the Home Guard of Tallinn district make firewood in Rooküla forest in August 1940.

The outing of the Tallinn district of the Home Guard to the forests of Rooküla with the aim of clearing the forest and collecting firewood. Camping with tents in the forest. Man with the gun blows the whistle and calls men and women from tents to line up. After military report the men are given axes and saws. Cutting down the dead trees. A few men wear suits, others shirts and vests. Men peel branches from the trees and carry the logs to the trucks. The voiceover informs that several hectares of forests and more than 100 cubic metres of firewood for public buildings have been cleared during one day. Trucks with loads of logs, decorated with flags and slogans, drive out from the forest. The members of the Home Guard are waving by the road, accompanied by enthusiastic music.
