Sünopsis

Documentary about Konstantin Märska, the founder of Estonian film art and the first professional cinematographer. The film tells about the film enthusiast's work and life full of impediments during the first Republic of Estonia. The excerpts from film chronicles and archival documents depict the story of a man who persistently fought for domestic feature film, even if due to the complicated circumstances he had to remain a documentary and film chronicle filmmaker. Märska as a talented cinematographer was able to document both public events as well as emotional scenes from daily life and poetical nature views about Estonia in 1930s - these recordings definitely belong to Estonian film heritage. The documentary has been dedicated to the memory of Konstantin Märska.
