Magnet? Magic? (1977)

The portrait documentary about Kaarel Karm, actor at the Tallinn Drama Theatre. The actor recalls the early years in his professional career and contemplates on the essence of actor's profession. He also talks about the birth of a role. Most of the time the actor can be heard as a voiceover. Views to the theatre, theatrical stage, costumes, people in the cloakroom, in the theare hall, in the streets or standing in the queue to get theatre tickets etc. Also, the documentary depicts static images from the stage as well as the rehearsals of the theatrical performances in the programme "Othello", "The Raft Boys", "The Rose Garden", "Children of the Sun", "Happy birthday, Wanda June!", "When we, the dead, will wake up", "Man and man" etc. The film shows numerous actors of the drama theatre.
